One weekend we decided to travel to Las Vegas, Nevada for a reggae concert. On the way home we drove through Red Rock National Conservation Area. It forms a large loop that wraps back around to the main highway, but for 30 minutes you drive through beautiful desert land. The mountains cradle the small valley and winding road.
What more could a painter look forward to than experiencing the landscape of a wild terrain? I may use some of the photos as subjects for paintings. I love to take my own photos and use them as references when I work with oils. I even felt inspired by the rough distant texture of the mesas. It reminded me of Grand Junction, Colorado. I’d love to make a trip back out there again to experience the beauty of our states.
Enjoy the photos & hopefully they inspire you to take a trip!
